
Mr Kieran Conlon - Chair (appointed 11/12/2023)
Kieran Conlon joined the Neurology Support Centre in 2023. He is a Chartered Accountant with over 35 years’ experience across industry, education, and practice. Prior to his retirement in 2023, he held leadership roles in Strategy and Enterprise Risk Management for Coca-Cola Company’s Commercial Products Supply (CPS) operations in Europe, Africa and Ireland. Since 2015, he led the Ireland Finance team, with responsibility for the financial management of the CPS operations in Ireland.
He has acted as Chair on a number of corporate and pension trust boards and has significant knowledge of trust law, governance, financial management, risk and compliance. He is a Fellow of Chartered Accountants Ireland and a Qualified Pension Trustee (IIPM).
Kieran’s financial and governance background will ensure the Neurology Support Centre maintains compliance and organisational excellence.

Dr Siobhan Kelly - Clinical Director (appointed 11/12/2023)
Siobhan is a native of Limerick and underwent her primary medical training in the National University of Ireland, Galway. She has previously worked in Cambridge and in the Royal Free Hospital, London before taking up her position as a Consultant Neurologist in Sligo University Hospital in 2017.
With over 17 years of experience in the Neurology field, her specialist area of interest is Multiple Sclerosis. Her position as one of the neurology consultants in Sligo University Hospital gives us very real insight into the shortfalls in neurology services and Siobhan is a strong advocate for the improvement of services in this area.He has acted as Chair on a number of corporate and pension trust boards and has significant knowledge of trust law, governance, financial management, risk and compliance. He is a Fellow of Chartered Accountants Ireland and a Qualified Pension Trustee (IIPM).

Dr John Cannon - Secretary (appointed 11/12/2023)
John is currently working as a GP in Tubbercurry. He previously served as the President of the Irish Medical Organisation (2023/24) representing the doctors of Ireland. His responsibilities included being a national spokesperson for doctors on industrial relations issues and health service matters. He also served as a board member of the IMO’s executive Board from 2021 to 2023, as well as being a member of the governing council for four years.
His experience in the medical field as well as in organisational strategy will be of great benefit to the Neurology Support Centre.

Dr Edel McSharry (appointed 8/11/2019)
Edel is a proud native of Sligo and is currently Head of School for Nursing at ATU St. Angela’s. She is committed to serving the local community, both as a recently elected county councillor, and as a representative on the Board of charities such as the Neurology Support Centre. She is our longest serving director and brings a wealth of experience and knowledge to the position in the areas of health and education.

Jake Dykes (appointed 27/09/2024)
Jake is currently Global Marketing Manager for the University of Galway, where he is responsible for all the university marketing and communications activities across all five continents. He is also a keen soccer player, having won a scholarship to North Carolina State University where he completed his studies. Now back in his hometown of Sligo, Jake’s marketing expertise will be a great asset to the Neurology Support Centre.

Sinead Tolan (appointed 6/12/2024)
Sinead graduated with a BSc in Occupational Therapy from the National University, Galway, and is now a senior Occupational Therapist with the HSE Community Brain Injury Team in Sligo / Leitrim / West Cavan. She works directly with adults who have experienced stroke or acquired brain injury. She has a keen interest in cognitive rehabilitation, and is very much aware of the day-to-day impacts that neurological conditions have on people.
Sinead’s hands-on experience will help the Neurology Support Centre ensure we provide a person-centred approach that always has the person with the neurological condition at the centre of our work.
